Projects eligible for certification and financing by BECC and NADB include, but are not limited to the following environmental sectors:
Grant and loan funding is available for projects that improve human health, promote sustainable development, and contribute to enhance the quality of life in the border region.
Grants and technical services are available to finance studies needed to complete a comprehensive analysis of a project, as well as to support the long-term sustainability of a project.

This project encompasses two phases, the first one includes removing of about 30,000 scrap tires from San Luis Rio Colorado and the second requires the definition of a border-wide strategy that will allow border communities to set up a permanent scrap tire management system, that ensures proper collection and disposal of these materials.
