Projects eligible for certification and financing by BECC and NADB include, but are not limited to the following environmental sectors:
Grant and loan funding is available for projects that improve human health, promote sustainable development, and contribute to enhance the quality of life in the border region.
Grants and technical services are available to finance studies needed to complete a comprehensive analysis of a project, as well as to support the long-term sustainability of a project.

One of the objectives of the recycling center is to educate the residents of Pharr on the potential hazards and contamination associated with illegal dumping. Another goal of the recycling center is to help promote the benefits of environmental education through public outreach and related venues.
