The Arizona Department of Water Resources (ADWR) will partner with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) for the installation of a radar-based stream-gage at the Morley Avenue Bridge in the Nogales Wash. Discharge measurements will be made publicly available in real-time via the internet and will result in an early warning system to capture (1) manifestations of a sewer-line break in Nogales, Sonora; (2) high flows associated with monsoonal precipitation that may deteriorate the wash and impact the IOI; (3) a trigger that can be used to initiate environmental monitoring and emergency response activities such as disinfection.
