A large portion of Arizona’s border region belongs to federal and tribal governments. It contains national parks, wildlife preserves, military training grounds, and tribal lands. The rest is made up of private, municipal, county, and state property. Some of the land lies near homes and cities, but a majority of it is harsh wilderness. The U.S. Border Patrol reports that Undocumented Migrants (UDM) cross from Sonora into Arizona along all parts of the border. An associated problem plaguing Arizona landowners is the amount of trash that is left behind by UDMs along their route to the United States
