The proposed project is designed to (1) conduct a comprehensive review of the existing conditions in the California/Baja border region detailing the use and level of sustainable business practices; (2) provide the tools and training for companies to enhance their environmental performance and competitiveness by establishing Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and/or developing an operational framework to seek ISO 14001 environmental quality certification; and (3) compare the beginning level of a company’s environmental program with their status and company goals subsequent to receiving training.
