The project proposed by the Hidalgo County Irrigation District (HCID) No. 2 includes improvements to the irrigation system. The project consists of the reconstruction of pipeline I-18. The District has identified a mortar joint pipe for which replacement is essential. This project consists of construction of a new concrete pipeline adjacent to the existing mortar-jointed concrete pipeline with rubber gasketed reinforced concrete pipe placed within the existing 30 foot easement. The existing pipeline would remain in service until the new construction is complete. The existing pipeline delivers water to both farm turnouts and other laterals. Replacement of existing gates and/or pipelines at connections to this may be required.
