The Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are pleased to announce two Requests for Proposals (RFP) for projects to be implemented in the U.S.-Mexico border region.

The Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are pleased to announce two Requests for Proposals (RFP) for projects to be implemented in the U.S.-Mexico border region.  The new RFPs will assist these institutions to meet the Goals and Objectives of the Border 2020 U.S. – Mexico Environmental Program, whose mission is to “protect the environment and public health in the U.S.-Mexico border region, consistent with the principles of sustainable development”.   

The geographic regions and dates of publication are:

EPA Region 9: California-Baja California and Arizona -Sonora Regions

EPA Region 6: New Mexico-Texas-Chihuahua (3 State Region) and Texas-Coahuila-Nuevo Leon-Tamaulipas (4 State Region)
RFP Publication date: July 17, 2013, The Region 6 RFP documents will be posted here in mid-July.

They will also be available via the BECCNet, and submitted to the respective institutional mailing lists.

Both RFPs have the same eligibility requirements and conditions, taking into consideration the regional priorities of each area.  We invite all local and state governments, educational and research institutions, community organizations, non-governmental organizations and Tribal nations to present project proposals that will contribute to the achievement of the goals and objectives of Border 2020. For profit institutions are not eligible to apply.
