The main objective of the project is to reduce water contamination by implementing a small-scale green infrastructure project that will harvest rainwater from roofs and landscape, as well as gray water from showers, washing machines and bathroom sinks in order to reduce the amount of storm water runoff and silt flowing to the city streets and ponds. The project will also include low cost solar technologies such as a solar water heater and space heaters. Additionally the population will be trained on the benefits of water conservation and of harvesting rainwater, reusing gray water, and flood control.
